WHY WHEAT STRAWS/OUR STORY

The wholesale stripping of our indigenous forests and the ongoing plaque of plastic and plastic straws on our environment is too much for Papatuanuku (Mother Earth). Some things had to change and fast.

Most people saw paper as the answer to at least the plastic disposable straw problem but we at The Best Eco Straw saw paper straws as part of the problem, not part of the solution because to make paper straws you still need to, well, use paper, and to get paper you need to clear forests or recycle paper and both processes use lots of energy and lots of toxic chemicals, just so you can sip your favourite drink.

The same must be said for the other straw alternatives, big processes and lots of energy and resources just to create a straw.

So we decided to wind back the clock, back before Plastic, back before Straws made from Plastic, Food, Metal or Glass.
What did People use before all this madness?
For centuries Humans had been using hollow, cylindrical tubes to draw water to their mouths, tubes given to them by Nature.
Straws made from Straw, who would have thought the solution to a Global Problem was so simple.
Straws given by Nature.
